JOB SUMMARY

The Forklift Driver may be asked to perform receiving, line feeding (raw, dry goods, condiments, etc.), Production Reporting, or Put Away/Rotation functions as needed. Generally, this position is responsible for using a forklift, walker or hand jack to move materials within the warehouse, which may include raw product, dry goods, or finished goods. This position is responsible for following proper procedures for product rotation and flow through the warehouse. The incumbent is also responsible for all documents and procedures required for this function.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITES

• Inspect powered jacks/powered trucks for operating conditions and safety
• Operation of powered jacks/powered trucks and stand-up forklifts
• Compliance to SOP's, Safety, and all other Fresh Express policies
• Accurate, timely and efficient workflow for all assignments
• Perform all documentation required for function being performed
• Maintain clean and orderly work area, including all dock areas, raw and finished coolers
• Communicate with assistant/supervisors, clerks, production, and QA as needed
• Ensure warehouse cleanliness
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Employee is required to stand for prolonged periods of time (duration of the shift, 10 hours or more); perform repetitive motions throughout shift such as: push/pull/lift and move up to 25 pounds, bend continuously, & reach with hands and arms; occasionally crouch, kneel, stoop and/or crawl to pick up product. This position requires ability to keep up in a fast-passed environment. *The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a fast-passed manufacturing warehouse setting. Employee is routinely exposed to wet/cold conditions of roughly 34 degrees Fahrenheit. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud, which requires hearing protection.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Forklift certification preferred
• Food industry experience
• Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment
• Experience meeting or exceeding high internal/external customer expectations
• Past experience working in a cold environment
• Previous Warehouse experience strongly preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish and/or English/Polish

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Self-motivated individual who requires minimal supervision and direction
• Must possess basic math skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Must be 18 years of age
