Certified Medical Assistant

Stress Care of NJ is seeking a CMA to join our growing Primary Care team to work closely with the physicians to collect vitals, record chief complaints, and update patient information in the EMR system. In addition to patient care the Certified Medical Assistant will be expected to learn front desk functions.

Responsibilities:

• Record patient medical history and vital signs
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms for examinations
• Collect blood, tissue, and/or other laboratory specimens to be logged and prepared for testing
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physician instructions to patients
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
• Help the physician examine and treat patients (changing wound dressings, handing them instruments or materials, giving injections, and/or removing sutures)
• Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies or equipment.
• Operate electrocardiogram (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine tests
• Perform general office duties such as scheduling appointments, answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms

Requirements:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certificate required
• Current BLS or CPR certificate required
• 2+ years experience working as a medical assistant
• Schedule: Mon, Thur, Fri 9-5pm and Tues, Wed 12-8pm
