Preferred Primary Care Physicians is hiring a Full-Time Charge Entry Specialist to join our Medical Billing Department at our Administrative headquarters located in Canonsburg, PA. This position is full-time with the opportunity for work from home flexibility after introductory period!

General Purpose of the Charge Entry Specialist Position: The Charge Entry Specialist is responsible for reviewing, submitting, and posting claims for office, hospital, and nursing home billing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Charge Entry Specialist:

• Under the direction of the Charge Posting Manager, the Charge Entry Specialist is responsible for entering all charges from the previous day, and ensuring accurate claims are sent out for processing.
• The Charge Entry Specialist will also prepare and submit the physician hospital and nursing home billing. Ensuring all data is entered correctly.
• The Charge Entry Specialist will communicate with insurance companies, patients, physicians, and other employees regarding coding/documentation issues and is encouraged to refer them to the Charge Posting Manager, if issues escalate.
• Answers questions from physicians, patients, medical office staff and insurance companies.

• Additional responsibilities for this position include auditing notes, correcting claims, and posting ancillaries.
• Participates in educational activities and attends regular staff meetings.
• Conducts self in accordance with PPCP employee manual.
• Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
