Pacifica Senior Living is looking for a Charge Nurse to join our team!

The purpose of this position is to:

1. Supervise, provide and coordinate nursing care in compliance with facility policies and procedures and to assess residents care needs and take appropriate action;

2. Implement medication orders; to administer medications in an accurate and timely manner and

3. Implement treatment orders; to assess resident treatment needs and take appropriate action and to participate in supervision of care provided to residents.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follow established standards of nursing practices and implement facility policies and procedures.
  • Obtain report from nurse being relieved and record sufficient information to implement appropriate follow-up action as necessary.
  • Provide report to nurse coming on duty, including sufficient information for follow-up action as necessary.
  • Take appropriate action to assure adequate staffing to meet residents’ needs.
  • Conduct resident rounds daily, reporting problems to Unit Manager and initiating corrective action.
  • Assume responsibility for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within your assigned nursing unit.
  • Administer and document direct resident care, medications and treatments per physicians’ orders and accurately record all care provided.
  • Ensure medications are administered per Federal regulations. Medications are never to be pre-poured.
  • Complete all documentation related to the resident medication administration.
  • Follow comprehensive care plans related to medication administration based on each resident’s needs and his/her comprehensive assessment as assigned.

Skills:

  • A Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
  • Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN or RN in the state
  • Minimum three 3-years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility or other related health care facility.
  • Minimum 6-months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
