Details of Service:
The Director of Counselling will work within the current HSE context taking into account emerging changes in the Irish Health System. This will include a requirement to adapt to the emerging Community Healthcare Organisations and associated governance structures. It will also require an understanding of the changing health policy context.
The HSE NCS provides counselling and psychotherapy to adult survivors of childhood abuse, and also has clinical governance of Counselling in Primary Care (CiPC).
The Director of Counselling is the Line Manager for all Counsellor/Therapists working with the NCS. The service may also provide a variety of clinical training placements to trainees from various accredited programmes. Supervision (individual & group) and continuous professional development arrangements are in place for all staff.
