Due to expansion and developments within our homes across Cork we are now looking to recruitChefs (all grades) on a full-time & part-time basis:
Head Chefs- Sou Chefs
- Chefs
These positions will be filled to support existing catering staff in our homes.
We have locations across Cork in:
Leamlara- Macroom
- Clonakilty
- White’s Cross
- Beaumont
Responsibilities:
- To be passionate about the delivery of and creative in the delivery of safe, wholesome nutritious food that caters for the preferences and needs of all our residents.
- Food preparation and production to the agreed meal plan with consideration for all residents dietary requirements
- Ensures the standard of hygiene in the kitchen meets all Health and Safety Regulations and records are maintained to demonstrate this.
- Adheres to all current HACCP Regulations (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and Environmental Health (EHO) standards.
- Adheres to First Aid, Hygiene, Health & Safety rules and COSHH Regulations at all times.
- Checking and recording incoming goods to verify quality and quantity.
- Ensures food is prepared and cooked in accordance with current food hygiene regulations and guidelines.
- Meeting agreed time lines in food preparation and production
- Ensuring waste is to a minimum
- Rotate where necessary to meet the catering demands of the role
- Guides and directs catering team adhere to all legislative guidelines/requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Ensures all equipment is operated, maintained and serviced as per manufacturer’s instructions and Health and Safety requirements/recommendations.
- Provides a high standard of catering to meet the needs of residents and staff.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:
Professional qualification (Culinary Arts/HACCP/QQI)- Level 2 HACCP Training
- Experience working in similar environment (with a good knowledge of HIQA standards and special diets for elderly)
- Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative.
- Can work as part of, and lead a team having excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Passionate about delivering great food.
- Fluent level of English both written and oral.
