Daycare & Preschool Education Specialist | Greensboro

Sunshine House Early Learning Academy is seeking a Childcare / Daycare Education Specialist to motivate, manage, and provide professional consultation to our schools regarding education program, QRIS, and staff development.

This is a hybrid position; however, the Education Specialist will spend 75% of time on-site at schools.


Starting salary range: $50,000
, based on experience, education, and credentials.

Education Specialist Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Education Coaches and serve as coach and mentor for other positions.
  • Partner with regional operations to motivate the workforce and build a positive team environment.
  • Develop and deliver trainings.
  • Design and implement corrective action work plans.
  • Provide technical assistance.
  • Actively participate in the orientation and onboarding of new employees.
  • Take an active role in shaping and maintaining education and quality vision for the company.
  • Write/review education materials as needed.
  • Recommend new policies, procedures, and professional development to attain high-quality results for self and others.
  • Work may be required on evenings and/or weekends occasionally.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or related field, or commensurate combination of education and professional experience required.
  • MA/M Ed in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 24 credit hours of Early Childhood Education, if degree is not in ECE.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a teacher or primary care provider in an early childcare and education setting with infants, toddlers or preschoolers required; at least 2 years of childcare management or regulatory experience preferred.
  • Experience with employees located in multiple sites required.


Knowledge Requirements & Professional Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of licensing, health and safety, QRIS, and accreditation requirements.
  • Knowledge of developmentally-appropriate curriculum and instruction techniques for young children; ability to coach teachers on how to implement the curriculum activities.
  • Knowledge of the Environment Rating Scales; ability to coach teachers on appropriate interactions and quality practice.
  • Advanced knowledge of age-appropriate practices for children ages infant-12 years old.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of effective room arrangement in a variety of settings.
  • Practical knowledge and use of chosen curriculum including the following: planning form and planning resources, applicable daily schedule, child portfolios as well as observations, work samples, and assessments.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance and consultation in the areas of child development, care giving activities, developmentally-appropriate environments for young children, positive guidance, prevention of child abuse/neglect, age-appropriate needs of children.
  • Ability to successfully complete work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel to other areas when needed, including overnight stays.
