The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Claims Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to build relationships and service our claims customers.
This position will report to our agency located in New Hyde Park, NY. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Solid understanding and management of all aspects of claims, including but not limited to property and casualty, general liability, worker’s compensation, errors and omissions, directors’ and officers’ liability, disability and auto.
- Report new claims electronically and telephonically.
- Ability to handle claims issues as they arise.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients, carriers, attorney’s etc.
- Builds strong relationships with carriers, adjusters, and clients.
- Perform database management in the Sagitta/AMS360 system according to department standards and best practices.
- Work with colleagues at all levels to adhere to standards of claims management.
- Ability to analyze and interpret insurance policy coverages for best possible outcome for clients.
- Follow up of claims development until completion and settlement of claims.
- Conduct claim reviews.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Special projects as requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an insurance claims capacity
- Broker’s license or ability to obtain within the first year.
- Knowledge of the Sagitta/AMS360 operating system.
- Skill in the operation of modern office equipment.
- Excellent customer services skills.
- Good understanding of claims processing and brokerage business
- Tech-savvy with excellent command of all Microsoft programs (Office, Word, and Excel)
