POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Educator will assess, plan/develop, implement, and evaluate learning/resource needs related to orientation and continuing education needs. Coordinates, develops, and presents educational programs designed to maintain, enhance, and assess job performance and competencies for Nursing Service employees. Conducts observations of the staff to maintain knowledge of positions and assess needs of staff and/or unit. Participates in evaluation process by documenting performance.

The Nurse Educator has 24/7 responsibility for department.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• + Graduate of an approved program of nursing is required

• + Current West Virginia State Nursing license

• + BSN required

• + Graduate degree in appropriate field, preferred

EXPERIENCE

• + Prefer two years of teaching/education experience

• + 3 years of recent RN experience.

• + One-year pediatric experience is preferred.

Computer Skills:

• + Microsoft Office Suite, Electronic Medical Record

Other Requirements:

• + ACLS, with instructor certification preferred

• + BLS, with instructor certification preferred
