Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager, Quality, Safety and Patient Experience in Ambulatory Care Services within the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Clinical Nurse Manager, Quality, Safety & Patient Experience will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer/Senior Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs and work to transform the Quality, Safety & Patient Experience within the medical group and its partners. Work with all department Chairs, Chiefs and Staff leaders to ensure a safe environment for our patients, staff and providers, educate on means to achieve high patient satisfaction scores within each department and support efforts to achieve high quality standards in cares. The Clinical Nurse Manager, Quality, Safety & Patient Experience will be responsible to improve patient satisfaction, safety and quality spearheading the programs collaboratively, developing and implementing curriculum to assess and improve staff competence, provide educational sessions for clinical staff through in-service activities and didactic sessions, creating awareness, and demonstrating results while maintaining strong relationships between departments. Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Participates in the operational planning, development, implementation and management of new services, including program analysis and operations related to Clinical Services, Quality, and Safety & Patient Experience. Identifies key processes and utilize lean processes to achieve optimal and effective patient experience.
- Promotes continuous improvement in methods of patient care delivery; identifies quality issues resulting from operational or clinical deficiencies and works to take corrective actions resulting in problem resolution; identifies reviews and resolves significant clinical incidents with other team members.
- Research and utilize best practices to develop educational curriculum that increase staff competence, teach and conduct regular staff in services, develop and implement policies and procedures for ambulatory care facilities in accordance with, professional ethics, state laws, and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Assures compliance with practice standards, applicable laws and policies; keeps abreast of current relevant regulatory standards; develops and/ or implements plans to address changes in standards.
- Demonstrates proficiency in technology to effectively monitor systems to assure clinical performance metrics are being met, operating objectives are achieved, and regulations, policies, and procedures are being adhered to. Implements and oversees quality assurance programs and standards. Develops practice guidelines and monitors compliance.
- Collaborates with Departments at RWJMS partner and affiliate organizations to develop uniform standards for clinical services that ensure the delivery of quality care and continuity of services for patients and families. Assure all clinical staff are functioning within and at the top of licensure/certification.
- Assists to facilitate and drive practice improvement processes across clinical operations. This includes patient satisfaction, safety and quality training.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible nursing experience required with a minimum of two (2) years’ ambulatory practice management experience.
Certifications/Licenses
- Current New Jersey License as a Registered Nurse.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience and knowledge of patient experience, evaluating, improvement processes, and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or a related Healthcare degree.

- Physical Demands: Position requires standing to 2/3 of the time, walking to 2/3 of the time, requires sitting to 2/3 of the time, use if the hands to fingers, handle or feel to 2/3 of the time, reach with hands and arms over 1/3 of the time, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl under 1/3 of the time, talk to hear over 2/3 of the time. Position requires lifting 1/3 of the time up 10 pounds, and under 1/3 of the time up to 25 pounds.
- Work Environment: Office and Clinical Practice. Travel between practice sites will require driving and position will be reimbursed for mileage.
