Job description
Purpose of the Role:
The purpose of this post is to work as part of the Neurophysiology team, providing diagnostic neurophysiology testing including paediatric EEG, sleep deprived EEG, neonatal EEG, Long Term Monitoring (LTM), visual evoked potentials (VEP) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS).
On the new CHI campus, there will be opportunities to work in a state of the art epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) and as part of an intra operative monitoring team, with opportunities to upskill where necessary.
In preparation for the move to the new children’s hospital, the neurophysiology service is expanding and the post holder will be involved with integration and development as part of this.
Essential Criteria:
- Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology or equivalent as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS).
OR
- Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Psychological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology or equivalent as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS).
OR
- Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS).
AND
- Have a minimum of 3 years satisfactory relevant post qualification experience.
- Experienced and proficient in recording EEGs from routine outpatients and inpatients.
- Experience in carrying out urgent portable EEG recordings in wards or intensive care units.
AND
- Candidates must have clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
