Compassionate, quality health care doesn’t happen by accident. It happens as the result of careful monitoring of performance, efficiency and quality measures. Our Clinical Quality Specialist handles data abstraction from medical records to develop and implement performance improvement measures.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Utilize alerts and best practices (e.g. Sentinel Event Alerts) to perform gap assessments and implement strong actions that will alleviate identified gaps.
  • Facilitate a thorough and credible review of events that address both system and individual accountability.
  • Collect and report OPPE, FPPE, and assists with peer review, as required.
  • Lead and participate in performance initiatives to enable clinical practice reform.
  • Provide assistance with the development of indicators for identified quality initiatives.
  • Coordinate all arrangements for medical staff quality subcommittee meetings and the Medical Care Evaluation Committee.
  • Review charts for quality criteria as defined through the process or initiative.
  • Integrate monitoring activities with the key indicators as outlined by the Quality Improvement Plan and in accord with the Mission, Values and Plans of hospital in order to maintain continuity in quality of patient care and optimal satisfaction of the customer.


WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED

  • Prior Clinical Experience.
  • Prior Utilization Management, Coding, or Hospital Quality experience preferred.
  • Clinical Interpretation of complex patient conditions.
  • Knowledge of terminology used in diagnosis and classification of illnesses, injuries, and disabilities.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of graphical display models and visual presentations.
  • Analyze data from performance teams and reports from outside agencies.
  • Coordinate multiple projects and commitments.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, administrators, employees ,and externally with all vendors and agencies.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change.


Qualifications

  • Required Associate's Degree
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years Clinical Experience Required
  • 2 years Utilization Management, Coding, or Hospital Quality Experience Preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Required
