Job Summary:

The Clinical Responder, who reports to the Clinical Services Manager, will assess children in need of emergency restraint and seclusions, conduct intakes and assist campus supervisors with milieu management tasks as necessary. Position may require evening, weekend, and shift work and requires availability to respond to emergencies.

About the Opportunity:

Wage Range, no experience required = $24.00 - $29.00/hour

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

  • The Clinical Responder is responsible for assessing children in need of emergency restraint and seclusions, conducting intakes and assisting campus supervisors with milieu management tasks as necessary. Position may require evening, weekend, and shift work and requires availability to respond to emergencies.
  • Community Safety Skills: Assesses risk and safety issues as they relate to milieu programming, acuity of clients, staffing and environmental conditions; is able to order for restraints or seclusion that extends beyond the age/time limits must be received from the doctor by the QMHP.
  • Crisis Intervention Skills: Perform intensive crisis interventions, leads, collaborates with and directs staff during interventions, conducts assessment of suicide and homicide risk and creates safety plans as appropriate.
  • Assessment Skills: Conducts face to face assessments of the physical and psychological well-being of clients within one hour of the initiation of the emergency safety intervention
  • Clinical Support Skills: Supports milieu operations by participating in management of critical incidents, debriefs of incidents with staff and clients. Engages with milieu leadership in assessing use of skills, techniques, and milieu management.


Education:
Requires a Master’s Degree in psychology, sociology, education or related human services field or a licensed RN. Must be a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as determined by the Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR’s) and/or the Oregon Mental Health Division.
