Job description

We are looking for a committed Teacher to complement our qualified workforce of educators during late afternoon. This position is specifically for 15 hours per week, from 3 pm to 6 pm Monday through Friday. There are no other hours for this specific job available.

You will be responsible for preparing and implementing educational content, effectively communicating with parents at pick up, creating and maintaining a schedule of activities for each day, and closing the classroom for the day. The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process. They will recognize the importance of being present for their students.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
• Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
• Create a safe environment that students want to be a part of
• Stand, walk, and constantly observe the students in the class, taking every opportunity to teach cooperative play and allowing for child initiated experiences
• Observe and understand students’ behavior and report suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
• Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences etc.
