Summary
Responsible for the development, validation and maintaining of CMM and Micro-View programs while providing support to inspectors, engineers, and production personnel to ensure products meeting customer specifications.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create, revise CMM and Micro-view programs and CMM and Micro-View reports to reflect customer print specification requirement.
• Create set up and operational instruction to CMM and Micro-View programs for part/ machine specific.
• Provides technical assistance and training to Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality personnel.
• Prepares quality control plans and inspection plans.
• Defines inspection methods, selecting gauges appropriate for inspection activities.
• Analyzes and interprets CMM and Micro-view reports to determine adherence to customer prints, specifications.
• Responsible for assuring that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Quality Management System.
• Prepare detailed inspection report such as written descriptions of inspection results and statistical analysis reports.
• Serve as technical expert for GD&T and interpretation of AMSE Y14.5M.
• Responsible for daily and weekly maintenance of CMM and Micro-View
• Provide support to Quality team with First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process or final inspection activities as needed.
• Participate in other Quality related activities such as Gage R&R, Process capability studies, PPAP, APQP.
• Oversee calibration personnel and department. Ensure compliance with QMS and create work instructions/procedures as required.
• Develop QC calc functionality and improve use of software.
• Explore and recommend new quality technologies, including scanning head use on CMM’s and Micro-Views.
• Assist with quality personnel training to improve department skill sets.
• Lead Continuous improvement efforts in the Quality department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• A minimum of 1-year CMM programming experience preferably PC-DMIS background and Microview InSpec
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, due to contractual requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree
• CMM programming experience preferably with PC-DMIS background and Micro-view with InSpec
• Experience in CNC machining
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 13485 and AS9100 preferred
• Proficient with PC-DMIS software, surface plate technology, shop math, and mechanical inspection instruments, and blueprints
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to express technical concepts effectively, both written and verbal
• Proficient at data collection, analysis, and presentation
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with external and internal customers
