Key objectives include:

• To co-ordinate and support an efficient, effective and high-quality service that provides continuity of care and quality of life to patients diagnosed with Lung cancer.

• Plan, implement, deliver, and evaluate care for a caseload of lung cancer patients in collaboration with Respiratory Consultants, Respiratory CNS and Lung CNS. This role will cross both MMUH and CHB.

• Act as an informed resource for health and social care professionals involved in the care of patients with Lung Cancer.

• Facilitate and contribute to education and training for health and social care professionals in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

• Support the collection of data in relation to Lung Cancer patients.

• Attend and participate in the weekly Lung Cancer MDT at MMUH.

The role of the Clinical Nurse Co-ordinator for Lung cancer has a number of key objectives:

• Improved quality of life for patients and their families
• Improved co-ordination of diagnostic services to Lung Cancer patients.
• To facilitate education and training for health and social care professionals in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• To act as an informed resource and link person for patient and family carers and for health and social care professionals involved in the managing Lung Cancer patients
• To link with Cardio thoracic surgery service MMUH, PHNs, Palliative Care.
