The Application Engineer - Cold Chain will play a leading role in collaborating with the Sales and technical organizations, internal and external, to promote the entire range of Building and Refrigeration products. They will lead end user and OEM engagements for controls design, startup and commissioning support, training, and troubleshooting of all products and services offered. They will also understand the requests of the customer and suggest the right product and control sequences for the specific application, and to be able to understand specific customer requests.
AS AN APPLICATION ENGINEER - COLD CHAIN, YOU WILL:
- Provide onsite startup, commissioning, and tuning support with an emphasis on CO2 equipment (Cascade systems, Trans Critical, Booster/Parallel systems).
- Create application educational content and train internal staff, manufacturers (OEM), and end users to increase their competencies.
- Develop supervisory sequence of operations (SOO) and provide application solutions.
- Program standard to advanced Energy Management Systems for various types of projects: Supermarket, Box Retail, C-Store, optimize controls, and store equipment for energy savings.
- Support OEMs and end users on the implementation of products and work with the Sales team to secure control specifications.
- Communicate, liaise, and provide regular updates through current tracking systems.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- Associate’s (AA) degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, along with ten (10) years related HVAC/R experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certified in the use and handling of HFC, HCFC, CO2, and A2L refrigerants
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 50% domestic travel

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
- Specific supermarket CO2 experience in the field, startup of Cascade systems, Trans Critical, Booster/Parallel systems preferred
- Experience with configuration and navigation of E2, E3 supervisory controllers, and distributed type control systems
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office suite
- Experience performing Environmental and Health (EHS) surveys
- Experience leading training and informational sessions
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and keep in line with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - self-manage time

Schedule
This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers. This role may have a travel requirement of roughly 50% of its time.
