Robert Half is currently searching for a Collections Specialist to fill an excellent opportunity with an organization in the Manufacturing industry. This long-term contract / temporary role is for a Collections Specialist who wants to work in the Mentor, Ohio area. - Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment
- Maintain and update customer files to sustain data integrity
- Act as mediator in maintaining quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries
- Lead all billing and reporting activities according to deadlines
- Take care of inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence
- Guarantee payments are processed
- Record all customer payments to the correct reports
- Abide by all rules and regulations established by the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act
- Process bankruptcy filings correctly when received
- Prior experience using accounting software
- Foundational knowledge in Communication Skills
- Cash applications experience highly desired
- Credit collections experience
- Commercial collections experience desired
- Expertise in consumer collections
- Ability to survey and make decisions regarding customer accounts
- AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 2-3 years of prior high volume collections experience
