About the Role
Reporting to the Director Commercial Finance - Group Reporting & Analytics Finance, the Commercial Finance Analyst will provide finance support to each key function within the organisation. The role will be focused on cost analysis, budgeting & forecasting, capitalisation, tracking project and support spend levels as well as driving key financial planning processes. The successful applicant should have strong core finance skills, comfortable working closely with management, be well structured and have strong analytical skills.
What you will do
- Oversee the preparation of monthly cost reporting duties for each function.
- Support on preparing month end reporting packs (i.e. variance analysis).
- Preparation of capitalisation of salaries and capital spend.
- Preparation, analysis and reporting on utilisation of effort within key functions.
- Delivering monthly project accounting reports.
- Preparation of accounting analysis and advice for commercial deals
- Support on key financial deliverables, including budgets and forecasts.
- Focusing on process improvements and reporting efficiencies.
- Provide support to various finance projects.
- Other ad hoc duties.
Who you are
- Qualified or Part Accountant
- Must be logical, self-motivated, proactive, well-structured with strong analytical skills and a high level of intellectual curiosity
- Excellent time management skills, demonstrating high levels of accuracy, thoroughness and reliability whilst coping under pressure
- Strong excel skills
What you will need to bring to Planet
- Workday, Oracle ERP experience
- Experience in cost controllership is desired but not required
- Experience of working in a fast paced multi-national company
- Experience in Capitalisation of Development Costings is desired but not essential.
- Experience in Research & Development Grants and IDA Grants is desired but not essential.
