Role Description & Key Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced commercial lawyer to carry out a broad range of legal work for FNZ Group companies in Ireland
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the General Counsel – Ireland and the wider Global legal team as may be required
- Provide legal advice on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters in a busy financial services environment
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial and strategic contracts with clients, suppliers and partners, including MSAs, IP agreements, consultancy agreements, NDAs and data protection agreements
- Provide legal support (with the assistance of local jurisdiction external counsel) to FNZ’s European business operations
- Ensure supplier contract management workflows and systems are kept up to date
- Develop and implement contract templates and contract-related process improvements
- Support the drafting and maintenance of Group inter-company outsourcing agreements in compliance with Central Bank outsourcing guidelines
- Manage relationships with key external legal providers
Experience required
- Admitted as a solicitor/barrister in Ireland or equivalent with 3+ years post qualification experience in a commercial/corporate department in private practice or in-house in the financial services sector
- Strong contract review and drafting skills combined with a practical approach to contract negotiation and ability to influence and provide direction on complex agreements, in particular, commercial and technology contracts
- Experience in the regulated Financial Services sector in Ireland/UK and EU and knowledge of Irish and European financial services law and regulatory framework and data protection laws
- Fintech/Financial Services sector experience gained in a MiFID firm or bank desirable
- Focused on providing excellent legal advice and support
- Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Personal attributes: hard working, high tolerance of ambiguity, resilient, articulate, self-directing and delivery focused with strong commercial and strategic awareness
