POSITION PURPOSE

We're looking for a Communications Specialist who will share responsibility for daily contributions to our company SharePoint, craft and post engaging and informational content to internal GroupMe channels and help create and execute other content marketing and general marketing materials. But wait...there's more! You will play a role in scripting C-suite messaging, assist with award application submissions such as The Best, help organize and execute special events, and play a key role in driving and promoting our community giving efforts. The ideal candidate will be a Difference Maker at heart. Strong writing skills and creative storytelling chops are a must.

YOUR ROLE

1. Community and Public Relations

  • Attend local meetings, approval meetings, and conferences on behalf of Richmond Window Corp.; document and act on items in our interests including media press releases and maintaining media relationships.
  • Foster relationships with third- party partnerships and community charities regarding the RWCares projects and awards nominations
  • Facilitate relationship-building in local communities, neighborhoods, and organizations to build brand awareness.
  • Ownership of RWCommunity program and all processes within
  • Assist in copyediting and writing scripts for special events, executive talking points, press releases and responses for social media/online reviews.
  • Track upcoming Award nominations and voting periods, ensure RWC is a candidate for the best and most current awards in our community and industry, communicate voting periods and awards won internally and externally, ensure communications adhere to award disclaimers and guidelines provided


2. Company Culture and Employee Engagement

  • Work with leadership, department heads and retail network to write internal stories and create content for RWC Internal communications including our internal newsletter, the RbA intranet, The Link and the RWC SharePoint.
  • Maintain impeccable organization & written communication skills, as well as manage employee e-mail database (on & off-network)
  • Lead the RWCelebrations annual calendar and GroupMe, including all processes therewithin. Build each event process and document all relationships, events supply needs, capture inventory and all expenses. Coordinate all set-ups and breakdowns, including supply inspections for needed replacement or repair. Submit any expense receipts and track all-in results for future RWCelebrations activities.
  • Lead our Core Value Hero program by reaching out to leadership for nominations, coordinating content creation, delivering internal/external announcements as well as maintaining inventories for all supplies needed.
  • Develop RWC internal communications to include accolades, tenured EE, management, etc.
  • Identification of new opportunities to increase employee engagement and quality of work life within RWC company culture.
  • Make sure that all employees are on the same page regarding the company’s mission, vision, and values.


3. Collaboration

  • Work alongside digital team to assist writing, creating organic social media content across all platforms.
  • Help generate new ideas for digital campaigns, internal RWC employee engagement and web traffic.
  • Report and communicate to leadership & appropriate department heads each day.
  • Coordinate with the Creative Marketing Manager timing, execution, and closeout of individual homeowner projects to create content and help provide complete experiences for the Digital Team to implement.


4. Communication

  • Sets the tone for communication across the company while ensuring appropriate branding and brand messages are used in communications internally and externally.
  • Deliver communications and marketing content that is impactful in terms of style and tone, adapted to various range of internal and external audiences and channels including evaluation and reviewing.
  • Communicates the company’s culture goals through internal communications, staff meetings, and one-on-ones.
  • Create talking points and scripts/copyediting in collaboration with Creative Manager


5. Process and Organization

  • Build & document processes on SharePoint required to deliver all project requirements.
  • Design and follow processes to create timing and workflow schedules for every request that comes in and enforce consequences for working outside the project system.


Knowledge, Ability, and Skills

  • Exceptional communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening with experience in GroupMe, Mailchimp or similar platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of best writing and messaging practices for business correspondence, public relations, advertising, marketing and sales copy and social media
  • Ability to effectively engage with team members of all levels and across departments.
  • Great project management skills, including time management, goal setting, multitasking and prioritization.
  • Good data analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Advanced organizational abilities
  • Ability to commute to the office daily with flexibility of telecommuting 2-3 times a week.


Communications Project Manager Compensation

Salary $55,000 Yearly

Office hours are 8:30am – 5:00 pm, unless an event is scheduled, or training on weekend and or offsite is expected.

Benefits

PTO:

Year of Hire – Employees earn 1.85 hours per weekly pay period up to a maximum of 12 days for the calendar year of hire.
January 1, following hire – Employees earn 1.85 hours per weekly pay period up to a maximum of 12 days for the calendar year. On each anniversary, employees earn an additional day of PTO, adding .15 hour per payday for each additional year of service. January 1, following 5 complete years of continuous employment – Employees will be earning 2.77 hours per weekly pay period up to a maximum of 18 days per calendar year.

401K:

Employees are eligible to participate in the 401K plan by making Elective Deferral Contributions and receive Safe Harbor Matching Contributions on the first day of the calendar month, coincident with or next following the date you attain age 21 and you complete 6 months of service, measured from your date of hire, provided that you are an Eligible Employee, which means you must be employed by Richmond Window Corporation or any affiliate who has adopted the Plan, at the end of that period.

Health Benefits:

Richmond Window Corporation will pay 85% of your individual monthly healthcare insurance premium, at our current rates. We reserve the right to cap it at that rate of paid coverage should our premiums be increased. You must elect coverage through our provider to receive this benefit; we currently offer United Health Care. Your insurance will become effective on the 1st day of the month following the completion of 60 days of employment, if you elect coverage.
