JOB SUMMARY
The Part-Time Communication Specialist will help assist the Communications Project Manager in developing and executing communication efforts that impact weekend services, events, and community-building efforts throughout the region.
Administrative
  • Help graphic department/company order/print and send content as needed
  • Ensure signage/graphics around the building are up to date
  • Assist vendors when they come to the church/answer any questions needed
  • Submit monthly team communication reports
  • Listen, document and prioritize communication with the Comm. Team
Writing Social Media Content
  • Help create and edit post captions as directed by the CPM/SM Manager/Intern/Volunteer Coordinator
  • Ensure that captions are creative, relatable, engaging, and reflect Victory’s voice
  • Ensure that captions are consistently structured and include a clear call to action
  • Assist SM with writing event descriptions, special events, and marketing campaigns
  • Write/edit content as needed for websites
eNews
  • Develop content and set the agenda for quarterly eNews
  • Keep the focus on key events and next steps (forward thinking)
  • Review and edit the description and content in events as needed
Seasonal/Event Communication and Advertising
  • Help determine which paid advertising avenues are best for each event
  • Develop and send press releases as needed
  • Write and send email marketing to targeted audiences
  • Advertise on community calendars
  • Use targeted email campaigns as needed for specific requests, announcements, and invitations
Communication Requests from internal customers
  • Create/assign new team projects/tasks as information is received regarding events or special tasks
  • Review and edit mass email and print communications submitted to the site
  • Write and edit general content for ministries as needed
  • Submit graphic requests to 3rd party vendor
  • Help order graphics, banners, booklets, etc. for events taking place within the church
Skills and Abilities Required
  • Passion for connecting people to God and to one another
  • Creative writing skills and a strong knowledge of grammar
  • Ability to engage others and generate/lead conversations
  • Basic computer and technical ability (i.e., using services like email, Dropbox, Asana, etc.)
  • Experience using Facebook and Instagram
Time Requirements
  • Part-Time
  • 20-22 hours per week
  • Every other Tuesday required on-site 10 am – 4 pm
  • Thursday required on-site 8:45 am – 4 pm
  • Remaining hours flexible with supervisor approval
