Summary of Job Description:
Incumbent collaborates between Cultural and Community Programs Departments (“department”) and the Council of Elders (“COE”) by overseeing the staff, administration, and strategic plans of the department. Incumbent also directs and oversees the research, development, care, maintenance, and exhibition of all department building spaces.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to analyze problems and determine solutions; ability to read and interpret laws, policies, procedures, and Tribal Ordinances
- Considerable negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Sound judgement skills and strong operational focus
- Excellent organization skills
- Considerable knowledge of management principles and policy development
- Considerable oral and written communication skills
- Master’s degree in History, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3 years of progressive management experience
- Experience working with budgets

- Bachelor’s degree in History, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5 years of progressive management experience
- Experience working with budgets
- Must be a member of the Mohegan Tribe
- Successful candidate must pass the background check in accordance with the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act (ICPA)
