Purpose of the role:

The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Officer is responsible for developing, implementing and administering all aspects of the Community Reinvestment Act. Establishes, participates and maintains relationships with community- based, charitable, and non-profit organizations. The CRA Officer develops and implements programs to ensure the Bank meets the needs of the community and attains CRA compliance goals. The CRA Officer advises Executive Management of emerging CRA issues to ensure objectives are being met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Development of the annual CRA performance plan and execution thereof.
  • Community outreach and Identification of CRA pertinent needs in the Bank’s assessment area
  • Keep abreast of emerging CRA issues and regulatory perspectives.
  • Develop and coordinate training to bank staff for their CRA activities.
  • Work with Regional Managers and local Market Managers to develop lending and investment programs that help meet the lending needs of low and moderate-income households.
  • Serve as the bank’s principle liaison with external CRA compliance auditors, examiners and regulators.
  • Coordination of third parties and bank staff in delivering CRA related programs.
  • Maintenance and management of CRA recording/reporting/tracking systems.
  • Maintain relevant CRA reports and files, including data and documentation.
  • Ongoing monitoring of and reporting on the bank’s CRA performance.
  • Update the Public File as required.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and related professional experience required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of CRA and Community and Economic Development.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, negotiation, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Expertise in creating, managing and growing strategic community partners on a local, state, regional and national level. In addition, effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects with varied deadlines.
