Position Summary: Via Credit Union is seeking a Community Relationship Coordinator representing Via Credit Union and is responsible to present and develop new opportunities or relationships for the credit union. Cultivate new and existing relationships for all facets of the organization and attend, exhibit, and present at trade shows, schools, senior and employer benefits fairs and other events and opportunities. The Coordinator schedule is Tuesday - Saturday and will attend some evening and week-end community functions and events in Warsaw, Kosciusko County, and nearby counties in the field of membership.

Essential Functions:

  • Represent ViaCU and be a visible presence in the local community at various meetings, events, organizations, and trade associations to develop new relationships and referrals, and promote the credit union. May require attendance at some evening and week-end community functions.
  • Generate new inquiries and cultivate existing relationships for all facets of the community, auto dealers, RV/boat and motorcycle dealers, brokers, realtors, employers, etc. to present information on available services such as deposit accounts, lines of credit, cash management, electronic banking, lending products, or investment services as appropriate.
  • Meet established expectations in number of scheduled presentations and scheduled/unscheduled visits to community organizations and businesses.
  • Attend, exhibit, and present at appropriate trade shows, schools, senior and employer benefits fairs, employer sponsored events, and other opportunities.
  • Promote financial literacy by conducting seminars of various topics at employer locations and in classrooms, as requested.
  • Research the demographics of Warsaw, Kosciusko County, and nearby counties in the credit union’s field of membership. Develop strategic plans for development of new relationships or referrals and provide tactical steps for implementation.
    • Contact potential member base in a variety of methods and follow-up methods, via telephone, site visits, letters, e-mails, and direct mail campaigns.
    • Assess the methods that are successful in developing business.
  • Promote all products and services with cross-selling to meet members’ needs.
  • Manage the distribution of current promotions.
  • Maintain knowledge of ViaCU products and services and recommend as needed.
  • Develop product/campaign suggestions because of community and employer meetings.
  • Maintain an attendance record at community meetings/events, visits, etc., expenses, and mileage.
  • Provide reports of business contacts, meetings, and presentations.
  • Manage a database that tracks contact’s information, follow-up plans, growth, penetration, and company values.
  • Become active in at least two community organizations or clubs that contribute to the community in a positive way.
  • Participate in planning of membership growth goals and referral sources.
  • Travel within field of membership counties, primarily responsible for Warsaw, Kosciusko County, and nearby counties.


Skills & Abilities:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in sales, marketing, and/or public relations required.
  • Prior demonstrated experience in public presentations and/or public speaking.
  • Familiarity with Warsaw/Kosciusko County and surrounding field of membership counties.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Possess valid driver’s license
  • Must be insurable
  • Must have reliable transportation
