About the Team
The Corporate Legal Team supports Workday’s global business by providing innovative legal advice regarding compliance with laws, corporate governance, and global entity management. We partner closely with teams across Workday to support the company’s growth, innovation, and integrity by guiding on all aspects of corporate law and governance matters.
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Company Secretary to support our international subsidiaries with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region and to drive innovative projects to help scale our fast-growing company. This role is perfect for anyone looking to expand their international experience, build partnerships with a variety of teams, and find creative ways to problem solve!
In this role, you’ll provide support for our expanding corporate practice including:
  • A focus on corporate governance activities for our Asia-Pacific subsidiaries, including board support, annual statutory filings, and ongoing compliance matters, as well as subsidiary formations and dissolutions
  • Working with local counsel to draft various corporate documents, including minutes, written resolutions, powers of attorney, director and address changes, as well as facilitating notarizations, legalizations, and company seals
  • Supporting other Corporate Legal Team matters, which may include stock matters and M&A activity
  • Partnering with Accounting, Payroll, Procurement, Real Estate, Sales, Tax, Treasury, and other Workday teams to provide corporate data for ultimate beneficial owner forms, anti-money laundering forms, Know Your Customer forms, RFPs, tax returns, audits, and other requests
  • Maintaining internal databases with subsidiary details and statutory documents
  • Managing the Corporate Legal team’s access to various software and subscriptions and maintaining relationships with third-party vendors
  • Helping to create and maintain scalable processes, internal team sites, FAQs, and self-service tools to support Workday’s growth
About You
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years of entity management experience, preferably at a high-growth, global company
  • 3rd level qualification in a related field or Chartered Secretary, ICSA / Governance Institute Qualification, or equivalent

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Resolute, resourceful, problem-solver
  • Team player with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to engage with internal managers and employees at all levels as well as senior-level external parties; position requires a high degree of tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent at understanding complicated topics as well as finding streamlined solutions to complex issues that are practical and consistent with business objectives
  • Extremely high attention to detail
  • Tech savvy; proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google products (Drive, Docs, Sheets, File Stream, etc.); SmartSheets and Diligent Entities experience is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a great sense of humor and humility
