Your role

We are looking for an organized, motivated, and adaptable candidate with exceptional good judgement to support the Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Americas Chief Compliance Officer (ACCO), and the senior management team within Compliance. The successful candidate will assist in the implementation of the CUSO risk management Compliance programs. The successful candidate will:
  • Assist the CoS in providing direct support to the ACCO and other senior compliance staff in organizing and proactively managing the strategic priorities and policies and facilitating the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of the Compliance function. They will be a team player, allowing for flexibility and unafraid to lend a helping hand where necessary.
  • Provide assistance to the CoS in order to maximize the ACCO's impact and efficiency by:
  • Strategically managing the ACCO's time to maximize achievement of their priorities
  • Ensuring the ACCO is prepared to be as effective as possible at all meetings (i.e., has all the necessary meeting materials in advance, is aware of any major issues related to a particular meeting.)
  • Monitoring information flows and new developments to ensure the ACCO's involvement in decision making processes is timely and are alerted to problems as early as possible
  • Monitoring deliverables owed by and to the ACCO to ensure timely and quality production
  • Preparing presentations and materials for regulators, internal governance committees, the Board of Directors, senior Compliance management, and other ad hoc requests.
  • Facilitating the coordination and implementation of key regulatory projects; this includes tracking key projects, liaising with senior stakeholders to provide updates for senior management, and overseeing the timely execution of critical projects and regulatory mandates
  • Helping drive the GCRG people initiatives in the region

Your team

The Compliance team is a dynamic, driven and diverse team of professionals with oversight responsibility for managing the compliance risks arising from UBS' business in the CUSO. You will report to the CoS, your role will be based in Weehawken and you will work most closely with the CoS and ACCO.

Your expertise

You have:

  • a Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of study
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to persuasively communicate complex issues succinctly and clearly
  • experience in project management
  • exceptional organizational skills and political agility
  • proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and think critically and act quickly under pressure
  • a strong work ethic and attention to detail
