The Compliance function is responsible for the oversight and management of regulatory risk within Mercer (Ireland) Limited. The function must meet the expectations of multiple stakeholders, including Board of Directors, the Central Bank of Ireland and front line business units with the aim of ensuring that regulatory risks are appropriately identified, mitigated, managed and monitored.

This role will report into the Acting Chief Compliance Officer and will be an important role in ensuring that the function delivers its annual compliance plan with specific emphasis on regulatory implementation, technical compliance matters and compliance monitoring exercises.

We will rely on you to:

  • Provide key support to the Acting CCO to ensure the MIL Compliance Plan is delivered.
  • Support the governance framework in Ireland including preparing materials for presentation at Executive Risk Committee and Board Risk and Compliance Committee.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance policies and procedures supporting a culture of integrity, compliance, regulatory risk management and excellence.
  • Own the annual regulatory risk assessment process which is key to developing the compliance plan for the next year.
  • Assist the Acting CCO to define, document and deliver the annual compliance plans, including compliance monitoring programmes.
  • Research and awareness of the regulatory environment to ensure the business is aware of its key regulatory responsibilities and has appropriate processes in place to meet these responsibilities.
  • Lead and manage regulatory implementation projects across multiple lines of business e.g. IFD / IFR.
  • Ensure appropriate compliance related training is provided to the business.
  • Assisting with the identification of potential risks and compliance issues associated with new products and services.
  • Build strong relationships with front line business colleagues to further develop the Companies’ compliance culture.

What you need to have:

  • Third level degree along with LCOI designation preferable.
  • Minimum of eight years compliance / regulatory experience in financial services, preferably in an investment firm or insurance undertaking.
