Compensation: $10.63/hr.+ tips

Location: Durango, Colorado

Job Summary: Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is seeking energetic, outgoing, motivated people to operate all aspects of the onboard concession department. Provide exceptional customer service and aid in the preservation of our history while venturing through the scenic San Juan Mountains.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Take a leading role in being a host to our passengers on board the train and in our event venue. The onboard concessions crew is the ‘face’ of the railroad!
• Actively work to achieve sales goals by selling food, beverage, and souvenir items.
• Be accurate and detail-oriented with our stocking, inventory, and cleaning procedures.
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, environment.
• Maintain a professional appearance and awareness of surroundings while multitasking throughout the workday.
• Must be comfortable, outgoing, and energetic as a public speaker and salesperson.
• Must be able to understand and operate cash register and account for a cash drawer.
• Must be a team player and work cooperatively with all departments.
• Must have the ability to regularly be on time for shifts.
• Be compliant with all D&SNGRR company procedures, safety, and operating rules.
• Other duties as assigned or requested by the Onboard Supervisor or Crew Leader.

Education, Skill, and Experience:

• Cash handling experience.
• Cash register experience.
• Public speaking experience.
• Bartending and/or serving experience.
• Sales experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to speak a second language, especially Spanish and French is a plus.

Work Environment:

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
