Full-time, contract-based Construction Quality Manager (CQM) at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, ME

Competitive pay between $50/hour.

Outage depandt ,some weekend work may be required.

Certifications Required:

• Must have OSHA 30
• Current Contruction Quality Managment Certification

Experience/Skills Required:

• 5 years experience in government contracting.
• 5+ years of safety management and quality control on a construction site holding the following positions: Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer or Construction Manager
• The individual must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1, and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
• Must know how to use Microsoft Office 360 and Adobe.

Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain a QC program as described in this section. This QC program is a key element in meeting the objectives of NAVFAC Commissioning. The QC program consists of a QC Organization, QC Plan, QC Plan Meeting(s), a Coordination and Mutual Understanding Meeting, QC meetings, three phases of control, submittal review and approval, testing, completion inspections, QC certifications, and documentation necessary to provide materials, equipment, workmanship, fabrication, construction and operations which comply with the requirements of this Contract. The QC program must cover on-site and off-site work and be keyed to the work sequence. No construction work or testing may be performed unless the QC Manager is on the work site.

The QC Manager must report to an officer of the firm and not be subordinate to the Project Superintendent or the Project Manager. The QC Manager, Project Superintendent and Project Manager must work together effectively. Although the QC Manager is the primary individual responsible for quality control, all individuals will be held responsible for the quality of work on the job.

Recommended Qualifications:

• Experience of 5+ years or a graduate of a four year accredited college or university program in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science
