Essential functions

• Participate in the inspection of infrastructure elements and assemble reports
• Verify the work performed for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications
• Review proposed change orders to contracts for scope of work and appropriate pricing; evaluate and make recommendations on proposed changes; participate in negotiating and preparing orders
• Oversee or participate in the examination and analysis of construction materials; initiate and or/ accept minor deviations from contract standards and specifications
• Interpret construction schedule, compare to project progress, and convey status
• Participate in the review and approve monthly pay applications
• Meet with design professionals or contractors to interpret design intent and modifications to plans and specifications
• Ensure compliance with city and industry standards, procedures, and regulations
• Ensure contractor has installed and maintains proper traffic control throughout the job site
• Perform preliminary and final inspections to determine acceptability of construction work; sign off on project completion; oversee construction project close out activities

Physical demands

• Must be able to sit, walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop or kneel, climb, or balance, talk or hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects tools or control
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on occasion

Additional eligibility requirements

• Knowledge of local government agency standards, specifically IDOT and Illinois Tollway
• Valid Driver’s License with required driving to job sites, may result in a long commute

• DB Sterlin Consultants requires full Covid-19 vaccinated status as condition of employment with the company as per requirements of the law
• Must be legally eligible to work full-time in the United States. Currently DBS is not providing visa sponsorship.
