As the leader of the nonprofit sector, the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement's mission is to strengthen, enhance, and advance nonprofits and the sector in Delaware through advocacy, training, capacity building, and research.
Reporting to the Vice President of Consulting, the full-time Consultant position supports DANA’s mission by providing thought leadership, facilitation, and organizational development consulting services to Delaware nonprofits.
This new position works in partnership with DANA staff and consultant partners to advance nonprofit excellence by offering strategies for organizational sustainability, innovation and change, leadership development and continuity, and improved governance practices. This position will build awareness of DANA’s consulting services and offer solutions to nonprofit executives and boards of directors to assist them with their organizational or leadership needs.
DANA’s offices are locatedin Wilmington and Georgetown, though this position will work throughout the state of Delaware.

Responsibilities:
· Develop DANA consulting servicesby understanding the capacity development needs of the Delaware social impact sector.
· Be a visible presence in the community to understand nonprofit leader and board needs. Develop trusting relationships with DANA members to offer services that uniquely address the challenges and opportunities they face to sustain their organizations and increase their impact.
· Provide facilitation, coaching and other consulting offerings which draw from experience in board development, strategic planning, leadership transition, innovation, change management, financial management, and leadership development.
· Serve as a DANA workshop trainer on appropriate topics and follow up on consulting opportunities derived from DANA workshop registrants wishing for greater assistance.

· Remain current with tracking progress on prospect and client engagements, with the ability to provide regular updates on conversion/renewal engagements and prospect pipeline levels. Be comfortable using DANA’s CRM and Workflowprocess systems.
Physical Demands:
· Able to travel frequently across the state
· Requires sitting for long periods of time
· Can carry up to 25 lbs.
Desired Capabilities and Qualifications
While no candidate will meet every qualification, ideal candidates will have these qualities:
· Master’s level or equivalent in business, organizational development or similarfield, and a minimum of2 - 3 years of nonprofit consulting/facilitation experience in strategic planning, process improvement, change management, board governance and/or leadership development.
· An individual who rates high in emotional intelligence – self-aware, self-control and the ability to “read” and lead others well. A person known for building trust quickly, with strong listening skills and the ability to facilitate and synthesize ideas.
· Aself-starter with internal motivation to do a job well, who is organized, deadline driven and can comfortably manage multiple initiatives at a time.
· Comfortable with technology and can facilitate in-person, via virtual platforms and hybrid contexts.
· Experience consulting with corporate and nonprofit CEOs, Executive Directors and other senior-level executives with references who can speak to the transformative impact your engagement made for their organization.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with experience working with a customer-relation management software system which tracks client engagement.
· Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills with a comfort level using social media and online methods to share impact stories or provide learning experiences.
· Board governance training desired (Licensed Standards for Excellence or BoardSource Governance Certification preferred)
· Knowledge of Delaware and the nonprofit sector is preferred.
· Must be able to travel to DANA member locations for in-person
