Our boutique social media agency is looking for an experienced Content Manager to provide project management and creative direction to our small team of copywriters, graphic designers, and video editors. This is an ongoing freelance, 90% remote position based in Atlanta. Candidates may apply from any location across the U.S. as long as they are willing to travel for client and/or team meetings if/when needed. This position is ideal for a career freelancer who is interested in developing a long-term agency relationship.
The Content Manager role is a client-facing position that helps to manage copywriting, graphic design, and video editing projects as needed to ensure that content is consistent across brands and distribution channels. In addition, the Content Manager also ensures that content outputs are delivered on time and within budget, and that content workflows and processes allow for the best content output possible by serving as a liaison between the agency’s Account Executives and/or client and agency creative team.
Responsibilities:
Lead small team of content creators (graphic designers, copywriters) and vendors (video production/video editing) through monthly content creation for social media and digital marketing on various distribution channels.
Lead internal and external creative meetings as/when needed.
Present clear strategic creative point of view on content creation to client, internal team and/or leadership.
Create client content strategies, editorial calendars, and lead team through social media style guide creation.
Review, edit and/or revise social media content calendars and/or creative assets as needed to provide direction to content team and meet client needs.
Ensure content creation deadlines are met and projects are within budget.
Assist in identifying content creation gaps and talent when needed and onboarding new content team members to creative projects.
Review monthly content performance reports to refine the approach month over month.
Experience/Skills Needed
Creativity and a collaborative spirit
Proven experience as a Content Manager for large small businesses and/or corporation
Experience in having a strategic approach to social media content creation that can provide a clear point of view to internal teams, clients and leadership.
Experience creating content strategies, editorial calendars and content calendars.
Experience leading a small creative team
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Experience with SEO as it relates to content creation
Excellent time-management and organizational skills
Experience with content creation and management software
Experience working with B2B or government agencies
Experience working in regulated industries or the public health, higher ed, government, commercial real estate industries. nice to have but not a must
BS/BA in marketing, English, journalism, or a related field - nice to have but not a must
