Job Summary:
In this critical role, the Contract Specialist will have a focus on contract development and will partner closely with the company’s Regional Directors, Regional Vice Presidents and DVM Recruiters to support all Associate and Medical Director Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) offer letters and employment agreements. This includes oversight of the contract life cycle, including but not limited to draft modification, and execution. This role requires close collaboration with various departments, including Business Development, HR, Payroll, Integration, Operations and Finance.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
  • Accurately and effectively develop, modify, and execute Associate and Medical Director DVM offer letter/employment agreement, balancing customer service, business needs, employee considerations and regulations.
  • Partner with Regional Directors, Regional Vice Presidents, and DVM Recruiters to identify client requirements for timeliness and accurate deliverables as needed to meet the deadlines for new practice closings.
  • Manage the life cycle of the Practice Owner and Associate DVM offer letter/employment agreements, as well as the processing of the executed offer letter/employment agreement to HR, Payroll, and Finance.
  • Support contract discussions.
  • Manage standards for contract formats, including presentation of comparisons, terms, general language, and provisions.
  • Manage customized language preparation and approvals.
  • Support appropriate clinical, administrative, and operational research to support contract development.
  • Analyze requirements and provisions in contracts, including terms and conditions, to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations and company policies and procedures. Manage to organizational principles of integrity and compliance.
  • Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly and securely maintained.

Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The knowledge, skills, and abilities which are required to be able to perform the Essential Functions of this position.
  • 3+ years of experience managing the total contract life cycle - developing terms, structuring, and managing employment agreements/contracts.
  • Ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Effectively and productively engages with others and establishes trust, credibility, and confidence.
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen. Knowledgeable about business drivers, demonstrates savvy, good judgment with the ability to successfully balance competing business and employee needs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates the ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects, set priorities, and execute on tight deadlines
Preferred Education and Experience:
The education level and amount of experience which are preferred and “nice to haves” but are not necessarily required to be able to perform the Essential Functions. Includes any preferred certifications and licenses.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field of study
Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
