Job Description:

The Controller is responsible for oversight of AP, AR, Payroll and Purchasing. This position will report directly to the President and will work closely with leadership to assist in the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan. The Controller role includes a mixture of hands-on, day-to-day duties and high-level strategic responsibilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to sales reporting, P&L forecasting, weekly expense reports, general ledger reconciliation and journal entries. The Controller supports the company’s long-term growth and fiscal stability, including active engagement in the reporting, budgeting process, and analyzing of financials.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of previous business Controller experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, managerial finance, business administration or related field
• Experience managing A/R, A/P and accounting personnel a must.
• Strong analytical, technical, interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience developing budgets and tracking budgets and cashflow.
• Ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
• Attention to detail, good communication skills with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced excel skills including: pivot tables, macros, building equations, charts and graphs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Computer Ease preferred.
• GAAP – 5 years
• Prior knowledge in the Landscape, Construction or Snow Removal industries is preferred.

Job Duties:

Oversight of the Accounts Payable processes, including:

• Audit of PO process,
• Audit invoice entry to A/P system,
• Processing of supplier payments,
• Administering automatic payments
• Reconciliation of supplier statements

Oversight of the Billing/Accounts Receivable processes, including:

• Production monthly recurring billing
• Audit work order billing
• Application of customer payments
• Collections
• Bank reconciliations

General Accounting:

• Prepare General Ledger Journal entries.
• Preparation and analysis of monthly Financial Statements, including reconciliation of all Balance Sheet Accounts Audit invoice entry to A/P system,
• Process intercompany billings Administration of corporate credit card charges
• Assist management in budgeting process
• Forecast weekly cash requirements
