Our Opportunity

The Controller role is an exciting opportunity to lead Maxxon’s accounting function. The ideal candidate will have a 4-year accounting degree, CPA, management experience, excellent communication skills, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical accounting skills. The Controller will work proactively and collaboratively across departments to identify opportunities for organizational improvement.

Key duties include:

• 
  Accounting: Oversee accounting operations including the month-end close process, financial statement preparation, AP/AR, inventory, fixed assets, and sales tax
• Processes: Implement accounting procedures and maintain strong internal controls
• Collaboration: Partner with leadership teams across the organization including operations, sales, marketing, R&D, and human resources with a goal of understanding the business and helping to identify areas for financial improvement.
• Reporting & Analysis: Provide management with monthly reporting package and ad hoc reviews of company initiatives. Analysis of results should be provided.
• Forecasting: Assist with routine forecasting and development of the Annual Operating Plan
• Systems Expert: Develop proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics GP and provide support to accounting staff
• Management: Manage and develop existing staff, hire and retain top-end talent, and cultivate a positive work environmen

Ideal candidate should have:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years progressive accounting experience
• 3+ years management experience
• CPA desired
• Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Ability to travel up to 10%
