About the Job
As a Controls Engineer, you will maintain and troubleshoot PLC programs for automated production lines.
Working Schedule: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on. Followed by - 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off.
Resulting in: Every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday off.
What Does It Take to be a Controls Engineer at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Instrumentation, Robotics, Computer Programming, or a related field
- In lieu of degree, five years of experience in a Controls Engineer role.
- Five (5) years of experience with programming and controls.
- Robotic programming experience highly desired
- Integrating and networking PC's and PLC's (TCP/IP, Ethernet IP) • Analyze and calculate machine performance and requirements utilizing the PLC.
- Experience working with Rockwell/Allen Bradley: RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, RS View, Factory Talk
- Proficient in Microsoft suite.
- Installation and programming of Allen Bradley HMIs.
What You'll Do as a Controls Engineer -
- The Controls Engineer is responsible for creating, documenting, developing, supporting, and improving upon the control systems that are essential to the production processes.
- Involvement will range from initial project sourcing all the way through SOP +90 days, or as required for corporate employees or launch through EOP plant employees (both may be required to support implementation of engineering changes for current production products).
- You will provide your controls expertise to help in tooling design and automation for new projects and process changes driven by product engineering and processes needs.
- Provide support for Controls related issues, as required, to prevent or minimize production downtime.
- Provide support through trouble shooting.
- Help establish design goals, process and equipment specifications for Controls and Electrical power distribution systems.
- Must provide an updated Change Log that can be reviewed and/or audited for programming or process changes.
- Must be able to communicate proficiently with management, production employees and other team members in the work environment.
- Adhere to the Food Defense and Security functions within the facility.
- Perform all functions of the role.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate the “Dawn Values” of Team Dawn and support the Circle of Excellence.
