We are looking for an Automation/Controls Engineers to join our stellar team! As an Automation/Controls Engineer II, you will take ownership of assigned projects and manage specific areas of their development. This includes initial project design, customer reviews, design implementation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Our hiring salary for this role is $105,000 - $135,000*+ hire-on bonus, depending on experience. This role is open to 100% in-office or hybrid work options. A fully remote work option is available for candidates with proven industry experience in utility-scale renewable energy, though some in-office training may be required.

What will a successful Automation Engineer II accomplish in the first year?

  • Provide excellent customer service, including same-day response to customer inquiries.
  • Successfully complete the commissioning of a project.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced Automation Engineers.
  • Consistently meet Nor-Cal’s Core Values.

Key Position Requirements:

  • Engineering B.S. degree (Automation, Controls, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar), or equivalent experience, plus two years of experience with industrial power generation (preferably solar) SCADA projects.
  • Ignition Core or Gold certification or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced understanding of SCADA/DAS design architectures.
  • Possesses a positive “can do” attitude and a strong motivation to learn and excel.

  • Salary range is based on California rates. Compensation may be adjusted depending on the candidate's state of residency.
