Job Description Summary

The control system on an advanced military jet engine is an assembly of multiple subsystems and components that must readily respond to pilot inputs, deliver fuel-efficient thrust, and enable safe mission completion. The Controls team at GE Edison Works develops and stitches together cutting-edge control logic, software, fuel and electrical systems & components, and prognostics. We design, validate, and qualify new engine control systems to deliver innovative products for exciting Military applications. As Advanced Combat Engine Controls Program Leader, you will function as the primary interface between the Controls engineering organization & the program, and drive execution on program-specific tasks. In this role you will impact the team’s ability to achieve engineering design, safety, quality, and timeliness of objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Defines program milestones and works to develop integrated project plan and works with the team on schedule execution
• Provides program leadership for full development and integration of Control Systems/PHM/Software, Electrical systems/components, and Fuel systems/components with the engine and aircraft systems
• Be the primary focal for internal and external customers for Controls requirements and scope. Partners with other program focals to manage program budgets and schedules.
• Ensure proper configuration control for controls components.
• Responsible for Controls proposal content creation.
• Responsible for assuring technical requirements from customers are being flowed down and decomposed into detailed requirements by team leads
• Supports management team ownership of program activities including Supplier Management, Manufacturing and Sourcing support, MRB, Quality Escapes, and Field Investigations
• Collaborates on supplier commercial issues including hardware and NRE POs, technical and programmatic changes, safety, quality, and delivery.
• Partners with management team to assure controls-related program deliverables are on schedule and within budget, including those of GE and Suppliers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in an engineering field
• Minimum of 6 years of experience related to aircraft engine controls systems or aviation components.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance required
