POSITION SUMMARY: The Conveyor Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of conveyor systems . In addition, the role will execute scheduled preventative maintenance activities and follow all appropriate safety practices. This individual will work under direction of the Conveyor Maintenance Superintendent and assist them in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and repair conveyor systems, including but not limited to; installs and adjust belts in machinery, tightens bolts, adjusts tension rolls, straightens parts, aligns rollers, correct photo eyes, replaces defective parts, and other activities
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance activities to ensure maximum uptime and throughput for the conveyor system
• Support the resolution of problems including jams that affect the conveyor operation
• Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards / work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery
• Follow all appropriate safety practices in all activities
• Possess working knowledge of the warehouse control system (WCS) tools to enhance the maintenance and operational activities

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school degree or GED required
• College degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred
• Posses a good working knowledge of conveyors and WCS
• Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work primarily in a distribution center environment. Physically active position including bending, squatting, lifting, climbing in support of maintenance activities. Portion of time will be sedentary in office environment.
