Job description
We are excited to announce that a vacancy for an experienced cook/chef has become available in our award winning, premium family run delicatessen and bakery, located just off the Rochestown Road.
Shifts include Tuesday-Saturday (7am-4.30pm) no nights and two consecutive days off.
We pride ourselves on producing the highest quality, homemade dishes including dinners, sides, fresh salads, soups, sauces and much more. Using seasonal and local ingredients where possible, we cook a variety of delicious homemade meals daily including GF, Vegan and Vegetarian options for customers in our own store and other stores which we supply (see @cinnamoncottage on Instagram to see our latest products).
We are looking for someone with kitchen experience, ideally in batch cooking. We want someone who works well in an intimate team, has strong leadership skills, and competence running a busy kitchen.
The person will be working with a team of 2 other chefs and reporting to the head chef.
Some of the main responsibilities of the role include:
- Manage stock, menu planning and place daily orders.
- Have excellent attention to detail.
- Deliver a high standard of cooking on a daily basis, including monitoring stock levels in store and managing daily/weekly orders
- Have a high level of hygiene and cleanliness, including HACCP training
The work is varied and rewarding. Working hours are ideal and very social, no nights, no varied shift work and more time to enjoy evenings and weekdays with friends and family. The shop closes for annual holidays for 1 week after Christmas Eve so all of our team can get a well deserved break. We hold a staff night out every 3-4 months so everyone at the Cottage can get to know one another - bowling, go karting...we do it all!
The right candidate will be offered on-site training on our menu, mentoring, external training courses and many opportunities to help develop new menus. Salary is negotiable and depends on experience.
If this role sounds like the one for you, please email us with a bit about yourself and your CV. Interviews are in-person, so please only applicants who are currently in Cork/Ireland. No accomodation available.
