As a key member of the team, you’ll help us continually deliver delicious, nutritious food to our patients, their families and our employees. This Cook position is responsible for performing a variety of duties relevant to food service operations at the Ronald Reagan hospital located in Westwood. Tasks include setting up service lines, pre-plating foods, preparation of meals, cooking, working the grill, and serving customers. Other responsibilities include: * Reviewing menus, production sheets, and recipes * Bake, roast, boil and steam meat, fish, vegetables and other foods * Clean, peel, cut, slice, dice, weigh and measure ingredients for recipes * Plate and/or garnish food for attractive presentation This is a full-time position eligible for full benefits (medical coverage, paid time off, retirement, and more). * ServSafe or equivalent safe food handling certification. * Experience cooking. * Understanding of basic cooking techniques and equipment. * Ability to work in a standing position for a long period of time; stretch,bend, walk, stoop and reach repetitively. * Ability to work in hot, cold, and/or wet areas. * Ability to lift, push, and pull 50+ lbs. * Ability to use strong cleaning solutions. * Ability to read, write, and comprehend standard English. * Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with co-workers,customers, supervisors and managers.
