Position Summary:
The cook will prepare meals and follow establishment recipes. Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to restaurant menu, and following food health and safety procedures. Cook, clean, assist other cooks and staff, and deliver food in a fast-paced environment. Work may include operating a grill, oven, or fryer. Previous experience in a team environment and various cooking methods preferred.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform cooking tasks as assigned and performs preparation tasks as assigned in accordance to established recipes and procedures in a timely manner.
Perform required tasks in the preparation, cooking and plating of various foods in assigned work situations including pantry station items, soups, salads, all entrée items and dessert items.
Always maintain work area in a clean and sanitary manner.
Follow proper food handling techniques and coordinates the use of time, material and equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expense.
Practice safe work habits to prevent injury to self or others.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
Requirements:
•High school degree or equivalent
•Previous experience as a cook
•Able to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends
•able to bend, move, and lift up to 25 pounds or more
•Must pass background check
•Able to read and write
