If you spent your summers at camp as a child or if you always wanted to have the opportunity to work in a camp setting where you can help children have fun, find passions and learn to be more confident and comfortable with who they are, we want to speak with you about our summer opportunities.

Deer Mountain Day Camp is looking for a fun, energetic teacher with a background in culinary arts who would be excited about sharing their passion for food with campers ranging in age from 3 to 15 to lead its cooking program. We look to develop a creative curriculum that introduces campers to different styles, tastes and methods of cooking. Candidates must have at least an Associate’s Degree.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with our program coordinator to finalize themes and recipes for the cooking curriculum.
• Help an ingredients/supply order based the curriculm.
• When camp is in session, prep the cooking for each days sessions.
• Lead lessons for 12 to 15 campers at a time.
• Communicate with and direct counselors who are visiting the activity area with their campers.

Camp Dates:

• 2023 Camp Dates: Monday, June 26th to Friday, August 18th
• Monday to Friday: 8:15 am to 4:15 pm
• Some pre-season training and curriculum planning required
• Daily lunch and snacks provided

Requirements:

• Associates degree in Culinary Arts.
• Experience teaching or working with children preferred.
• Fun, kind, flexible personality.

Deer Mountain Day Camp is located in Pomona, NY at the base of the Ramapo Mountains. We have a 25 acre campus that features a stream fed lake, 5 pools, 4 tennis courts, zip lines, aerial adventure elements, 3 softball fields, two soccer fields, a football field, full size hockey rink and 25 indoor buildings that serve as camper bunks and home to our arts and stem programs. We are a town away from Woodcliff Lake, Mahwah, Montvale and Suffern and 25 minutes from the George Washington Bridge. We serve campers ranging in age from 3 to 15 who come from Rockland, Bergen, Orange and Westchester Counties and New York City.

Pay: $525.00 - $625.00 per week
