Coordinator of APE, Hospital Homebound, OT & PT& Vocational Services
Position Description:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Health & Related Services theCoordinator of APE, Hospital Homebound, Occupational and Physical Therapy, & Vocational Services in the Student Support Unit, is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the district's compliance in the areas of Adapted Physical Education, Hospital Homebound, Occupational and Physical Therapy, Vocational Services, and educational services provided at Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center.

Scope of Responsibility:
- Supervises APE, Hospital Homebound, Occupational and Physical Therapy, Vocational Services and Rivarde teachers and paraprofessionals.
- Facilitates professional development for APE, Hospital Homebound, Occupational and Physical Therapy, Vocational and Rivarde teachers.
- Evaluates Vocational, Hospital Homebound and Rivarde personnel through Compass- SLTs, PGP, observations.
- Oversees the post-secondary class and community-based instruction.
- Schedules Interagency meetings at each high school twice a year. (Fall and Spring semesters)
- Attends Special Education Regional Advisory Council meetings quarterly.
- Oversees the assignment of caseloads/school assignments for all APE, Hospital Homebound teachers, and OT & PT staff.
- Participates in IEPs as necessary.
- Monitors the compliance of required reports for supervised programs. (EIS, eSER, progress reports, IEPs, JCampus.)
- Develops and monitors budgets for supervised programs.
- Orders and keeps an inventory of all instructional materials, APE, OT & PT equipment and laptops for these programs.
- Oversees Special Olympics and Games Uniting Mind and Body (GUMBO).
- Meets regularly with the Executive Director of Health & Relates Services to provide the status of these departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Health and Related Services.
Skills and Qualifications:

- Appropriate certification as described in Bulletin 746 of the Louisiana Department of Education.
- 5+ years working experience in an educational setting.

- Ability to be an engaging change agent and culture‐creator that can inspire and motivate.
- Exceptional analytical and problem‐solving skills, with an ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to make decisions and recommendations.
- Collaborative management style, with a proven track record of working with diverse individuals at all levels to drive decision‐making and results.
- High degree of professionalism, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, while consistently demonstrating sound judgment and disciplined thinking.
- Working knowledge of eSER, IEPs, IAPs and federal and state laws, policies and regulations relevant to special education and Section 504.
- Proficient in Google Suite

- Advanced Degree
Physical Involvement:
Sitting is required part of each work day. Must be able to operate office equipment. Standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting up to 10 pounds is sometimes required. Ability to provide own transportation to schools, work locations and meeting sites. Mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work locations.

JPS offers a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience and a competitive benefits package.
