The coordinator is responsible for supporting the core mission of the On Your Marq (OYM) neurodivergent support program at Marquette University as well as providing individual coaching services aimed at increasing neurodivergent students’ success on campus. This person reports to the OYM Director. The coordinator’s role includes primary responsibilities within the coordination of services, supervision of peer mentors, assisting with recruitment, screening, and monitoring of OYM student participants, supporting trainings for students and the community.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist with Recruitment, screening, and monitoring progress and files of Marquette students in the program. Will evaluate the medical and mental health assessment information when considering program admission.
2. Train and supervise undergraduate peer mentors involved in the program
3. Maintain small caseload of program students
4. Assist with supervision of graduate level coaches
5. Assist in creating and maintaining campus partnerships for the benefit of our students
6. Liaise with parents, faculty, advisors, and other units on campus connected to students in the program
7. Provide administrative assistance to the program
8. Maintain website and social media accounts

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in psychology; Education; Speech Pathology.
1 year of experience in working with adolescents or young adults with disabilities, preferably neurodivergent Experience working 1:1 with students in higher education

Knowledge of autism in adulthood and supports success in higher education.
Knowledge of and experience with supervising a team of student trainees.
Proficiency presenting to a larger audience.
Willingness to work with media to promote the program.
Ability to assess and identify unique solutions to academic support needs for students.
The candidate will be expected to have a role in providing academic and mental health supports in higher education; evaluating private medical/mental health documentation and essential academic program components to determine appropriate interventions.
To be effective in this role, the candidate must be able to relate diplomatically with students, parents, faculty and staff.
They must be able to develop solutions to problems that have not previously been solved and will be expected to critically evaluate information from multiple sources to come to an appropriate decision.
This person will be expected to direct the work of student employees.
The ability to manage time and multiple, disparate responsibilities simultaneously is essential to success in this position.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in clinical, Counseling/Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or School Psychology; Education; Speech Pathology; Occupational Therapy; Applied Behavior Analysis; or Clinical Social Work; Licensed or License-Eligible.
Experience working directly with college-age persons, as well as professionals and administrators within disability compliance frameworks, and in providing individualized support services in which the candidate identifies both needs and interventions.
