The Group and Role
Our Corporate and Commercial team comprises a highly regarded and dedicated group of transactional and commercial lawyers with diverse skill sets. We have advised over 1000 companies operating in, to and from Ireland – the country named in the top three most attractive places in Western Europe for investment, and home to many world-leading, high performing companies. With our local presence in Ireland formed through a merger with Eugene F Collins, our full service team has been operating in the market for over 125 years – supporting clients in areas such as financial services, real estate, retail and consumer, technology and life sciences.

Located within our Corporate and Commercial Division, our Private Equity team has been trusted to deliver some of the best deals in the market by 15 of the UK's top 20 mid-market investors. Market data shows that in the last 5 years we have been involved in more sub-£500m private equity deals for UK investors than any other law firm, with our deals spanning nearly 40 different jurisdictions.
We help our clients build and execute their deal pipeline, and support their investments throughout their life to a successful exit. Every step of the way, we bring ideas and market insights to our clients in a way that they won't find anywhere else.
Following our recent merger, our Dublin office is seeking a dynamic lawyer (with partnership ambitions) at Managing Associate level to help grow its private equity practice in Ireland. You will have the benefit of being part of a long established Irish corporate firm with a strong corporate department and an International law firm, with a pre-eminent reputation in mid-market private equity transactions and an opportunity to help shape and develop the expanding private equity practice in Dublin.
Solicitors with a minimum of 5 years of general corporate experience in a leading Irish, UK or international corporate law firm, and ideally with experience of advising on private equity transactions, are encouraged to apply.
Required Skills and Experience
Candidates applying for this position should:
- Be a qualified Solicitor (in Ireland, UK or internationally) , ideally with a minimum of 5 years relevant post qualification experience in a corporate and commercial team in a top or mid-tier firm, ideally with some experience of working on private equity transactions
- Have excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
- Have experience of both working effectively in teams and in managing transactions (or components of larger transactions) independently, with specific experience in a broad range of corporate and transactional matters including mergers and acquisitions, investment documents and and managing due diligence/disclosure processes
- Have proven experience of managing files and interacting directly with clients
- Be highly motivated and willing to take responsibility for work requirements and client needs
- Have the ability to manage and prioritise tasks and to consistently meet deadlines
- Have the ability to effectively manage internal and external client relationships
- Have a calm and measured approach to problem solving;
- Have a flexible positive attitude towards work
