Our partner in the Buffalo Area is looking to add to their growing accounting team and bring in a talented Senior Cost Analyst. This person will have a strong understanding and prior experience in a manufacturing environment, as well as, cost accounting.

Collaborate with Finance and Operations at multiple sites to collect, analyze, and report detailed financial data. Identify expense opportunities, track changing costs, and assist in cost planning, reporting, and inventory analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accurate cost estimates for pricing products and assessing profitability.
• Utilize ERP system to evaluate Bills of Material, Routing, and Labor/Overhead rates.
• Maintain standard costs through daily and annual Cost Roll activities.
• Ensure consistent application of corporate policies and cost accounting principles with Finance teams.
• Analyze and review inventory levels, addressing excess and obsolete inventory.
• Communicate finance/accounting concepts to non-financial managers.
• Maintain internal controls in compliance with JSOX.
• Assist in developing annual cost budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Engage with external auditors for product costing and inventory valuations.
• Support special projects for company leadership.
• Provide information and analysis to support other departments as needed.
• Other duties or special projects as requested

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems experience
• Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of US GAAP
• Highly organized, with attention to detail and emphasis on accuracy
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Interact regularly with Senior Management
• Strong communication skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• B.S. in Finance or Accounting required; CMA preferred
• Three to five years of related experience in a manufacturing setting required
• Understanding of accounting concepts and related activities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
