Full-time Counselor position available in our Lewistown office location. Staffing requirements includes minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with a major relating to human services and 1 year experience. Position responsibilities/duties include (but not limited to) Individual, Group, Intensive Outpatient and documentation of all sessions. Intake evaluations, biopsychosocial histories, treatment plans and updates, progress notes, maintain client files.

The Substance Abuse Counselor assesses the client’s drug and alcohol history and provides therapeutic and educational services consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Clear Concepts Counseling.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Intake evaluations and documented summaries

· Biopsychosocial histories.

· Treatment plans and updates.

· Progress Notes.

· Counseling: Individual, Group, Intensive Outpatient and documentation of all sessions.

· Maintaining Client files.

· Discharge planning and written summaries.

Individual scheduled counseling: 1 hour sessions. Clients will be scheduled weekly by the Counselor for these sessions.

Group counseling: One and one half hour sessions, once a week (Tuesday’s 4:30pm-6:00pm)

Intensive Outpatient: three hour sessions, two evenings a week (6:00pm-9:00pm)

Jail: clients required by probation or requesting to be seen by Counselor will be given specific times that the Counselor can meet with them.

Qualifications: Must meet Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs Staffing requirements which includes minimum:

Bachelor’s Degree with a major relating to human services and 1 year experience.

Must be working towards or have a PCB (Pennsylvania Certification Board) Certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Organizational skills.

Detail oriented.

Ability to communicate and collaborate with employees & other agencies

Knowledge of persons served.
