Immediate need for covid testers. Will be rotated between Shafter, CA and Taft, CA. Must be Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant with documented education/experience. Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred.

Typing and computer skills essential. Experience in a primary care setting or COVID response a plus.

JOB SUMMARY: The COVID Testing Assistant will support the organizations effort to provide COVID testing at our office locations and in community settings. This individual will collaborate with our existing team to facilitate high quality, best practice COVID testing according to company policy and procedure. The role will require a high degree of comfort and confidence dealing with the public, and will include hands-on care for individuals seeking testing for COVID-19. Additional responsibilities will include charting of tests performed, communication of negative results to patients by phone, and answering COVID test related questions from members of the community with guidance from the COVID RN.

  • Follows protocols and procedures for testing and procedures as appropriate.
  • Ensures all orders and forms are complete.
  • Documents into the patient medical record according to standards and procedures.
  • Cleans, prepares, and ensures supplies are appropriately stocked and ready for use in the exam room and clinical areas. Cleans and sanitizes as needed.
  • Follows patient identification protocol, maintains confidentiality, and upholds compliance standards according to policy.
  • Responsible for COVID-19 testing via nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swab. This position will assist with flow of patients arriving onsite for testing. This position will educate patients on the process of testing. Works in a team environment with proper PPE.
  • Setting up/preparing testing center
  • Checking in patients with registered testing appointments
  • Administering the Nasopharyngeal/Oropharyngeal Swab while patient remains in vehicle
  • Collect and prepare specimens and relevant documentation, assuring accuracy in labeling and documenting
  • Comply with all designated safety policies and procedures in the work area, including the use of applicable protective equipment when necessary to prevent exposure to potentially infectious agents
  • Maintain all HIPAA standards
  • Performs other related duties as necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
